I always wondered if Solr could benefit from Language Server Protocol: https://microsoft.github.io/language-server-protocol/ , at least for the Query screen. That would have allowed us to integrate with a bunch of tools automatically rather than having a great query implementation ourselves.
But I don't know how feasible or relevant this is, so mostly just throwing it out there in case others also thought of it and/or if it will seem promising as a line of thought. Regards, Alex.
