I would suggest asking these questions (both about hte validity of the patch file, and about possible work arounds) directly in the jira you mentioned. IIUC: If you establish SSL when you first create your cluster, prior to creating any collections, this bug should be a non-issue, which is probably why it hasn't seen much action/comments since Anshum created it. -Hoss http://www.lucidworks.com/
