In February a contest was started to design a new logo for Lucene
[jira-issue]. The initial attempt [first-vote] to call a vote resulted
in some confusion on the rules, as well the request for one additional
submission. The second attempt [second-vote] yesterday had incorrect
links for one of the submissions. I would like to call a new vote, now
with more explicit instructions on how to vote, and corrected links.
A2. Binding vote.
I saw two small differences between A1 and A2. One difference was
color, but I do not consider that to be a relevant difference --
different colors can be chosen each time that the logo is deployed. The
other difference was that A2 has an inverse version depicted at top
center. That difference, NOT the color, is the reason for my preference
of A2 over A1. It could be argued that the presence of the inverse
image is also not a real difference.
The B and C series have VERY tangible differences between the variants.
How will the different variants be counted in the final tally? I am not
subscribed to java-user and thus I can only see votes on the dev list.
Looking at the new threads on the dev list only, the outcome could
change if votes for A1 and A2 are counted separately instead of together.
Thanks,
Shawn
