Argh!  I encountered a change in behaviour of totalHitsThreshold with #14511. 
This is a potential blocker for this 10.2.1 RC 2 build.

I filed the following issue to track it 
https://github.com/apache/lucene/issues/14561. I have a small reproducer that I 
extracted from a larger scenario in Elasticsearch. I’ve not fully groked the 
scenario yet, but it’s clearly a behavioural change. I added what I know to the 
issue.
