Sami Siren commented on SOLR-4192:
----------------------------------

I think you are just missing the double quotes from around the classpath (to
prevent shell? from expanding it):

{code}
java -classpath "example/solr-webapp/webapp/WEB-INF/lib/*"
org.apache.solr.cloud.ZkCLI -cmd bootstrap -zkhost 127.0.0.1:9983 -solrhome
example/solr -runzk 8983
{code}

Should work just fine.

> There is an odd classpath gotchya with ZkCli scripts.

> I saw this many months ago while working with a customer, but forgot to
> investigate further.
> When using a classpath that just points to the webapp libs, you seem to get
> an error about not being able to find one of the jars in that folder. If you
> also specifically include the one solrj jar it complains about, everything
> works. WTF?
> Does not work:
> {code}java -classpath example/solr-webapp/webapp/WEB-INF/lib/*
> org.apache.solr.cloud.ZkCLI -cmd bootstrap -zkhost 127.0.0.1:9983 -solrhome
> example/solr -runzk 8983{code}
> Works
> {code}java -classpath
> example/solr-webapp/webapp/WEB-INF/lib/*:example/solr-webapp/webapp/WEB-INF/lib/apache-solr-solrj-5.0-SNAPSHOT.jar
>  org.apache.solr.cloud.ZkCLI -cmd bootstrap -zkhost 127.0.0.1:9983 -solrhome
> example/solr -runzk 8983
> {code}
