The new UI currently shows the list of cores in an unsorted order. Presumably
they are shown in the order that they finished starting, but I have not looked
to verify this. I would like to have the option to show that list sorted
alphanumerically. IMHO it would be good to make this the default, but I'm not
willing to speak for others.
There has been recent work to support thousands of cores. I think that this
would be even more important for that.
