Additional data point. I was failing almost every time (mac) with very
strange 404 errors and messages like "could not find /solr/update" in
the embedded tests last night and in seemingly random other places but
I was rarely getting through any full test suite OK.  But running the
tests explicitly (-Dtestcase=) worked like a champ.

Three times running just now and no problem. Will keep running.
