Anand created SOLR-4750:
---------------------------
Summary: solr not starting up in a given scenario
Key: SOLR-4750
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-4750
Project: Solr
Issue Type: Bug
Affects Versions: 4.2
Reporter: Anand
I recently upgraded to solr 4.2.1 and things are mostly working. However, in
one particular case I am not able to start solr server used by my tests.
With "start.jar" that come with 4.2.1 package (solr does not start up fine)
{code}java -jar start.jar -Dsolr.solr.home=. -Djetty.port=8088
-Djava.util.logging.config.file=etc/logging.properties
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.eclipse.jetty.xml.XmlConfiguration
at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:202)
at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method)
at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:190)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:307)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:248)
at org.eclipse.jetty.start.Main.invokeMain(Main.java:439)
at org.eclipse.jetty.start.Main.start(Main.java:620)
at org.eclipse.jetty.start.Main.main(Main.java:95)
ClassNotFound: org.eclipse.jetty.xml.XmlConfiguration
{code}
With "start.jar" that came with 4.0.1 (solr starts up fine)
{code}java -jar start.jar -Dsolr.solr.home=. -Djetty.port=8088
-Djava.util.logging.config.file=etc/logging.properties{code}
I saw that there was one minor difference in start.config where
{code}[All,websocket]
$(jetty.home)/lib/jetty-websocket-$(version).jar
! available org.eclipse.jetty.websocket.WebSocket{code} was missing
compared to the previous version but not sure if that is the reason.
