Ditto, here for Tomcat usage. This is largely because we were already familiar with Tomcat, though at the time of Solr 1.4 we looked at Jetty and decided to stay on Tomcat. It is only lately that I have come to hear that Solr developers consider Jetty to be the platform of choice. This is fine, and we will re-investigate Jetty, but what would be the reason to pro-actively drop the .war?
