I've committed a relatively small patch that should allow top-level testcase
filtering. The patch is small, but the consequences aren't -- it imports
common* and extra-targets at the top level so I can't predict all the
consequences, really. Works on my machine...
I still have mixed feelings about this issue -- it's adds a layer of complexity
that doesn't seem to balance what it aims to help at...
