That will not work because the 'root' of the application when testing locally is your own hosted site. If the images are put into the lucenenet-site repository in the asf-site branch, they will be hosted under the https://lucenenet.apache.org/ site so you'll have to use the fully qualified domain name "https://lucenenet.apache.org/site-images/my-image.jpg" if you want them to work when testing locally and hosting live.
