+1 Our index benchmarks have improved on both performance and memory consumption, but our search performance has been slipping since 4.8.0-beta00014, this one being the worst at about 30% slower. It's not a blocker, but probably something we should be looking into before we get to release candidate.
The changes to the Lucene.Net.sln file broke the command line build because we don't package the websites or .github folders in the release distribution and it was referring to the new .msbuildproj files within those directories. I commented those lines out in the solution file, zipped it back up, signed it again, and committed since it was something we could just change. Paul and I both confirmed the build works, and I ran all of the tests. But we will need to fix those references before the next release. The binaries seem fine, so I don't see any reason to restart the vote. Do note that the binaries are *optional*. The release is the source code and we should all be running the tests in it, checking it out in the IDE, etc. https://www.apache.org/legal/release-policy.html#compiled-packages https://www.apache.org/legal/release-policy.html#source-packages I have added the release policy URL to the template so it will be included in the next release vote. I also compacted our index and performed searches. I experienced no issues, and there were no breaking API changes for our use cases, so no modifications were required. So this is just confirmation that I am one and the same person as my +1 vote from my other email below. Apologies for any confusion.
