That is good to know about, thank you. At this time, however, we are still not planning on adding a .NET 9 target. Each new target requires quite a bit of effort and resources to support, and we haven't even launched with a LTS version yet. We can't have this be a moving target (literally). We need the community's help on finishing up the 4.8 release items first, which is all the difficult work of fixing failing unit tests, doing API reviews to ensure compatibility, tracking down performance issues demonstrated with benchmarks, things like UTF-8 byte-order marks, etc. It's not the easy/fun stuff like this, but it's important work. If you'd like to contribute there, please check out the 4.8.0-beta00018 milestone in issues, and comment if you'd like to take one of the items so we can follow up on it.
