NVM, it seems to work now. My initial subscription requests were caught by our 
spam filter and forwarded to me by our mail admin. Since I couldn't just reply 
to the forwarded messages, I used one of the other reply message formats and 
those caused the mailbox full response. When I re-requested a subscription and 
it came to me directly, I was able to reply and the subscriptions worked. This 
may still indicate an ezmlm problem though I don't know how to debug that.
