Re: Use of Avro

Slightly unrelated, but then not: I've used avro in some of my ml
codes (not mahout) and found that it did a better job than the
Writables I used until then: The serialized size went down, so did the
load time. Recently, I also swapped SequenceFile for the avro
container format, which yielded another set of improvements, mostly
because my data generally doesn't need the key field of SequenceFile.
