+1 from my side. Sean - congratulations to your project. I agree that having commercial vendors support an open source project can cause all sorts of interesting discussions and give development an interesting twist. However for what I know Mahout has benefitted greatly from anyone who had a commercial interest in the project and as a result improvements to existing implemenations where they were lacking has helped us a great deal in the past. After all the main goal of Mahout was and is to build software that is suitable for commercial applications in contrast to being research-only. Isabel
