The commits are indeed bug fixes.
The point is, do we wait for more commits like these or just go out and release 
with what ever is committed.

I saw the announcement.  As far as I am concerned, the freeze is on.

That shouldn't stop all commits, but it should stop all commits not
intended to fix release bugs.

Can you say who put in those commits?
