Stevo Slavic reopened MAHOUT-1228:

I'm not just removing them, but replacing with a "target/" which matches not
only target directory in root of the project but within any subdirectory, so
including submodules. Same applies for ".settings/" directory. And that is the
point of the ticket - to remove redundant unnecessary stuff from .gitignore,
and it is valid.
