Grant, Isabel, Thilo, Robin, Sebastian and I met today for a number of hours of bug squashing.
The goal was to triage as many bugs as possible based on the previous discussions on the mailing list. Of the remaining bugs for 0.8, we aimed to resolve as many as possible. Where the disposition of an issue wasn't obvious, we sent out messages to the mailing list and several key folks were able to respond about how things might go. Our progress was prodigious. We now are left with fewer than two dozen issues that are marked for 0.8 or which might be marked for 0.8. Last I looked, I think that I saw only 12 issues that were specifically marked for 0.8 at the end of the day (and evening). Several of these have probably been resolved and are only open pending assent of the list. All of this means that we are in very good position for the 0.8 release. It was an exciting day.
