Hi David,
This should not be a problem as CandidateItemsStrategy is an interface and all
methods of interface are public by default
(http://docs.oracle.com/javase/specs/jls/se7/html/jls-6.html#jls-6.6.1).
Let me know if you still have trouble writing your own CandidateItemsStrategy.
