Hi,

Robin (the original author of FPGrowth) has replied to the question about the future of FPGrowth. Here is his answer:

"I believe fpgrowth2 was written to fix some issue with the original
implementation. So with that yes, the original implementation should go.
However whether the entire fpgrowth package should be deleted is a question that should be opened up to the current users of the code."

So the question is whether to retain FPGrowth2 or to completely remove the entire package, what do people think?

Sebastian Schelter mentioned you on MAHOUT-1515
---------------------------------------

[~robinanil] according to svn, you have been the original author of
fpgrowth. What do you think with regards to keeping it in the codebase? Do
you have time to maintain it in the future? To be honest, I'm in favor of
removing this code (we already thought about it in 0.9). Would like to
 hear your opinion on this.
