I have seen that page, though admittedly haven't read it too closely until this
morning. It definitely makes sense to me though i am pretty new to git. I'll
try following the instructions step by step (without a pull request) to push a
CHANGELOG edit up when i get a chance. I could do a dummy pull request with
some trivial change if you want to verify the full step by step instructions
also.
As for the rest:
Since a very common answer on the dev/user lists is a variation on: "please
build off the trunk" I wanted to make sure that the instructions for building
referred to the github repo rather than the old svn repo (this was the only
actual urgent issue that i saw).
After looking at the build page i did a quick sweep for links to files in the
SVN repo. These are a low priority- few if any have been changed since the
move to the git repo.
A little higher priority are things like the "how to contribute" page which
refer to creating svn patches and uploading them to JIRA. I figure for now we
can remove the SVN stuff and direct to the
http://mahout.apache.org/developers/github.html page. Maybe later add a
Contributor page for PRs?
Unfortunately I'm pretty swamped this week and next so I'll chip away at these
as i get a chance.
