This seems to also cause a failure on the release branch. The connector,
amazingly enough, recovers from this by repeating every single ingestion; the
second time through it gets the 200 return which it then counts as success.
Pretty busted, but I guess not busted enough to require a respin of 1.1. If
anything else comes up, though, we should definitely fix this.
