I definitely feel outside of my comfort zone here, but apparently FBA stands
for "Form Based Authentication".
Here's a link (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee806890.aspx) that
talks about this in conjunction with an LDAP provider. So definitely of
interest, I guess.
I think I was interested in the REST API providing enough access control
information to avoid requiring a separate plug-in living inside sharepoint.
However, having read the MSDN article, I don't think it provides this.
