Karl Wright commented on CONNECTORS-752:
----------------------------------------

Hi Fran,

I hesitate to include another arcane syntax in the general part of the UI for
ManifoldCF because we try to target that UI for users that are not super
sophisticated. We made an exception for regular expressions because they are
well understood by a wide variety of people. Even so, the number of questions
we get to the lists about what the right regular expression is to match string
X is relatively high.

Plus, it seems like there must be a better way. Sync every 15 seconds does not
sound like a realistic scenario, since running a typical job takes more than 15
seconds. Can you give me a real scenario where the scheduler UI has been an
issue for you?

> Currently, when defining a job and including schedule times, it's not easy to
> define when the sync has to be done.
> Imagine the use case when Sync has to be done every 15 seconds, it would be
> painful from a user experience perspective.
> By including cron expressions for that it would be much easier and more
> adaptable to different use cases.
