I tried adding type in path for a folder that can be drilled down on a server
and it works fine, so it sounds JCIFS are not able to reach DFS node in that
case

The path won't add unless JCIFS can resolve it and agree it is a legal folder.
Since you are attempting to use a type-in here in the first place, I suspect
that JCIFS does not recognize the path for some reason.

Can you please try the following: Try the typein for a path which you can
actually drill down to.  If the type-in box works in that case, then it is
indeed an issue with JCIFS ability to reach the DFS node in question, and we
can diagnose it further from there.
