Did you see!

Spotted! I now won't believe people when they tell me they don't look at the web site :)

Looks quite good. I also like how the images have alt and title attributes so that there's something to read when the mouse passes over them or in text-only mode.

I like titles too. Louis suggested it and John popped them in. Thanks again you two.

One thing that would help the page render faster would be to also include accurate width and height atributes in the image elements.

Done. I did not include them earlier as I was still trying out what size to make each of the images. The idea being that the images are to be spread around the central text.

That way the browser can take care of the layout while the images trickle in via modem at 2kb/s.

It's still a bit slow, but it is much improved.

A second thing, which is less visible but would help indexing, is to use more specific terms in the meta element.

I'm not sure what meta data is used site wide. It certainly does not appear to be in the current templates. Anyone know?

The issue associated with maintaining the MP web site is: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=25936

The most fun has been unearthing the plethora of material that already exists, but difficult to locate. There is still more, but I think the focus is now on what we need to update or create afresh for 2.0.

All the best
