To say that I am au fait with the code is pushing it - but I am working
on it. :)

Well I opened my mouth (figuratively as it was really my fingers that
betrayed me) with suggestions on marketing and looks like I'll end-up
trying to practise what I preach. :-)

I am an ex secondary teacher, been in charge of computing at Southland &
Wanganui Polytechnics and have relief lectured at Lincoln Uni - so have
some experience with putting together lessons.

Do we have syllabuses / course prescriptions so that our work is
directly targeted to meet these?
I would be delighted to help with this work!

Great idea!

What has the success been like?
Can you give me the relevant training so that I can do the same down
here?

Do you think if I volunteered to write training material (possible
overlap with work above) and run workshops for them that this would
help?
Do you have a contact person so that I can offer my services?

I confess that I haven't been keeping a weather eye on conferences but
will try to do so now.

Do you have the contact details? (Being basically lazy and making sure
that I talk to the same person).

Jacqueline has advised that 5 of my abstracts have been accepted for the
Canberra conference. One of which is about the integration of
OpenOffice.org with R. Have you any contacts at Auckland Uni? Would I be
stepping on toes to make contact about R?

Thanks, Ian
