HI I updated stats to 2005-03-26. Data for 2.0beta are pretty impressive the first week out, with over 100,000 downlads, and it is now, a month or so out, the majority of downloads. Congratulations all, especially the fantastic developers who made this!
See <http://stats.openoffice.org/> How many have download it altogether? Hard to say, but as of today, several hundred thousand at least, close in fact to 1/2 a million. (I remain skeptical of total numbers, as many just go to their favorite server. We also don't count acquisition via CDROM, or even fully via BitTorrent, though we could that.) What the success of 2.0beta represents, is, to me, that 2.0 final (or GM), will be quite a spectacular event. We should certainly get going on PR, articles, and other ancillary information for it. Sadly, I do not have a set time for its release.
