Nice interview Louis. Hey Charles big difference from SO 5.2 to now huh? I remember I was selling computers when Sony packaged SO 5.2 with them and I remember thinking "Why would anyone want a second desktop just for their word processor?" Hmm makes me wonder if we can get Sony to do it again.
<quote> But I try to remain very vigilant on that point, so as not to create conflicts of interest. </quote> Very honorable. <quote> The mandate of the NLC has changed over the years from a constellation of projects representing the non-English speaking members of OpenOffice.org to a confederation of communities expanding the market share </quote> That's great how this has evolved, but I would maybe say a confederation of communities representing non-English speaking members. <quote> in the end, there doesn't seem to be a real solution besides side help and improvements in the tools we're using everyday (the localization of Issue Tracker, for instance) to this problem. </quote> Localization of Issue Tracker is a big one I think. I wonder how we would get someone to be a go between to translate issues into english. The problem I see with a localization of issue tracker is that the developers that can't speak the language can't read the issue. <quote> and one to two reporters will be given the role of coordinating the development and the communication. </quote> Great idea. <quote> First, we should never forget how effective the French OpenOffice.org community is at lobbying and talking about OpenOffice.org. </quote> Way to go French Community!! It was a pleasure learning more about you and it looks like your doing good things with the NLC. Keep up the good work. -- Adam Moore Community Volunteer OOo blog: AdamMooreOOo.blogspot.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
