Hello The nicest thing about working in an international project, is that there is always an opportunity to celebrate spring more than once. In Australia, the first day of September is generally accepted if not declared as the first day of spring. Spring has sprung.
I would like to use this spring to sweep clean any of the negative energy accumulated over winter. Wrt to my own unexpected hiatus. For those that are unaware my life was disrupted by an injury I sustained while in Canberra for LCA2005. While I am as yet unable to travel on long air flights, I am back again to my keyboard and getting visual in the physical for and on behalf of OpenOffice.org. Before I get down the winter clean sweep, I would like to thank especially Jonathon Coombes and Ian Laurenson for seeing through the OpenOffice.org Miniconf in Canberra to a successful completion. And all those that gave me their support during my short hiatus, and especially John, Louis and Erwin for managing any tasks for me, that were forwarded to them by my partner or myself during previous months. In the last week over a dozen new members have joined the Marketing Project (MP) and have made themselves known to me either privately or on-list. I would like to again welcome you and if you missed my infrequent message about mailing lists of interest to OpenOffice.org marketing, see: http://marketing.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=dev&msgId=2134834 A lot of our activity is on our mailing lists. Also, we sometimes refer to the Strategic Marketing Plan (SMP) as this documents our background and how we work together, and liaise with other OpenOffice.org projects. Initial SMP: http://marketing.openoffice.org/strategy/ Working copy SMP: http://ooosmp.homelinux.org/SMP/ In another thread I will discuss our current focus, in short, the promotion of 2.0 and OOoCon. Again, welcome to all our new members, and thank you to our continuing community members.
