When me and Adam did NEA in LA, it cost about $5,000 including my
flights from the UK, hotel etc but excluding our time. We made a bit
selling OOo discs but I should think $1000 would be top wack. So if we
said it cost $4000 an event, we can get to say 250 events for a million
dollars. If we get OOo to 200 people at each event its 50,000 new users
for $1m or $20 a user. May be it would be more effective to say "prove
you are using OOo and we'll give you $20" :-)

Seriously some sort of competition with prizes like install OOo and
after say 6 months 100 lucky people win 10,000 dollars each. But you
have to be using it for 6 months to trigger the winning. So lots of
people down load OOo and use it on the off chance they might win 10
grand :-). Of course if they are using it for 6 months they might just
keep using it.

:-)

All of this is partly what inspired me to start the INGOTs. At least
there is some chance of getting an income stream to do something rather
than wishing on a rainbow ;-)
