In January 2006, in Philadelphia, the first annual "Global Creative Economy Convergence Summit" is to be held.
The organizers are currently calling for presentations. I am preparing to submit one that discusses open source and open standards, through the specific examples of OpenOffice.org and ODF. (And I will try very hard to teach people the difference between these two things!) If anyone else is in the Northeast USA/Eastern Canada, you should try to attend! This event will help spread our marketing efforts beyond the traditional computer geek audience, while not stepping so far from our core strengths either.
