Hi
I was looking through Google's Base offering (http://base.google.com/)
and was thinking that this would be a good way of recruiting volunteers
for specific tasks. Instead of how it is now where there is no central
point for volunteers to look for tasks relating to FOSS projects, a
common Google Base database type can be created for FOSS tasks.
Agreed. There are many places to advertise for volunteers, and ICT
volunteers specifically, but few FOSS places.
If other FOSS projects can be convinced to use such a similar system it
could provide an easy clearing point for people willing to help, even
across FOSS projects.
Good idea.
We can leverage Google's offering of a free service to help increase
the number of volunteers that we can get, and by using a common service
with other FOSS projects it can only benefit us all.
As a minimum it would provide an opportunity to place FOSS in front of
people that do not normally see it and in a space not specific to FOSS.
