I'll restart it in a new thread as asked here.

Since I am part of this debate I will put in my thoughts. Sorry, for
being silent for awhile as I was job hunting.

This thread is exactly for the OOo MP. We as a volunteer project need
to know what our limits are as far as volunteers even more so than in
a paid job. First it tells us if we want to participate and secondly
it tells us where we can participate.

A MarCon role is one that is of vital importance to this project.
Each one of us, not just the marketing leads, depend on the MarCons to
act as liasons for the project. That is liasons for what each of us
believe in. We, as a project, should be able to put our trust in our
MarCons to do the job we ask them to do. So to kind of get out of the
arguments about Ryan's dismissal until a meaningful discussion can be
accomplished I would like to start talking about the role of the
MarCon. I would like to have a discussion of what everyone thinks the
role of a MarCon should be and the role that people think the
community should have with that MarCon.

1) What is the role of the MarCon?

2) Who does the MarCon report to?

3) What decisions can the MarCon make on his/her own?

4) Who puts a MarCon in his/her position?

5) What is the process of putting them in that position?

6) Who relieves a MarCon from his/her position?

7) What is the process of dismissal?

I think that's a good start for now.
