Hi,

Have you visited the MP wiki lately ?

http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Marketing

It has evolved very nicely and contributions are showing up steadily. There are already great things there and I send a BIG thank you from the project to all those who contributed!! I invite those interested in marketing OOo to take a look, maybe there is already something usefull in there for what they do. Also, maybe there is something you can contribute too.

Let's review some of the pages:

STRATEGIC MARKETING PLAN:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Strategic_Marketing_Plan

Thanks to Jeff Causey's huge work we have a working copy of SMP in the wiki, more accessible to all of us and in the same time at hand for future development. Jeff also took the time to look for to do items and start up a To-Do list based on SMP which offers a more action oriented perspective of the SMP. This could develop in important actions for the project. Many thanks for all this, Jeff. A lot of good work is in there. ;-)
You can find it here:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/SMP_Based_To_Do_List

THE CASE FOR SWITCHING:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/The_Case_for_Switching
an interesting page aimed "to store and develop arguments for switching to OpenOffice.org" as RealGrouchy states. It is an important material as we are all trying to promote OOo and we do fight competition. While you are there, take a look at the authors personal plan located here: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/User:RealGrouchy

SHORT TERM MARKETING PLAN:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Short_Term_Marketing_Plan
Initially started by Steven, then he deleted the page and thanks to Yorick we do have a version how he remembered him. It is interesting and could move things to action.

MARKETING TO-DO LIST:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Marketing--ToDo
It is an almost complete copy of the list from the marketing website. It has the advantage that now it can be edited, and also it presents the main sections from a general marketing plan. Could be a source for ideas to develop further.

ART PROJECT WIKI:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/OpenOffice.org_Art_Project
Of course you all know the use of the wiki by the Art project. Thanks to Bernhard there is an Art project activities palnning there, a page related to the OOo logo liense text and more imporantly, there is a list indexing the OOo graphics that are spread in IssueZilla and which this way can be found more easily. Thanks Bernhard for taking care of this. ;)

MAJOR OpenOffice.org DEPLOYMENTS:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Major_OpenOffice.org_Deployments
This is a great page listing listing tracking public information on major OpenOffice.org deployments. I find it extremely usefull. Contributed by many, therefore please excuse the fact that I do not list anybody here. But a big thank you for this usefull resource.

PR-OOo2.0.2
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Marketing-PR-OOo2.0.2
A list by Cor Nouws with items to emphasize in the OOo2.0.2 press releases. Good stuff in there. ;-)

PRESS COVERAGE ON OOo:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Press_coverage_on_OpenOffice.org
The title says it all. Good info can be hosted here. Thanks Wily Yuen for starting this page.

OOoCON Call for location:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/OOoCon_2006_Call_for_Location
A page holding the call for this year's conference location proposals.

MARKETING VOLUNTEERS LIST:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Marketing_Volunteers_List
Meet the team here. A place to list yourself with a short profile if you are available to contribute and are willing to be contacted about tasks that may enter in your area of expertise. Please provide there accurate information so that the list is usefull to coordinators.

DESIGN AND LAYOUT:
We've gone through different stages of setting up a page, category, etc, learning in the same time to use this tool. And I am sure there is much left to learn. But let me draw your attention to RealGrouchy's Template:Marketing which adds some extra functionality and makes the rules for starting a page shorter. We still have to edit the instructions for participating to reflect this new approach. Thanks to RealGrouchy for this contribution.

INFRASTRUCTURE:
After latest talks I had with the maintainers of the server, there might be some changes of which you will be notified.

I do hope you will find the content gathered so far usefull. Things are perfectible and it is at your hand to help in making them perfect.

I have nothing to say more for now than THANK YOU to all who contributed. Valuable things are showing in there.

Best wishes,
Cristian
