I would like to discuss with OpenOffice.org an idea, but NOT on the
public mail-lists.

The idea involves securing the rights to a term that will make Open
Office more Google friendly. I am willing to put my money where my
mouth is, to the tune of about $450... which is roughly what it costs
to obtain a US trademark. If I say too much here, squatters will be
able to steal a march, and profit from speculative premptive
registration.

I wanted to put this idea in an ink-on-paper letter, but could find
no address on the web. In general, I understand the reason. For this
offer, I don't know how to proceed.

I would welcome an email or other address to send my offer to in more
detail. It must be in the sun.com or openoffice.org domain, for
obvious (I hope) reasons. By all means give me a (non-broadcast)
eddress at either, and something to include along the lines of
"please forward this to [EMAIL PROTECTED]", and I'll trust Sun or Open
Office to be sure Fred is legitimate before doing the forwarding.

Wtih thanks, Tom
