Hi,
well, I really like the idea; I wonder what our marketing doctors have

Hm. For something like this, I hardly think one needs to wait to propose solutions :-)
That's why I forwarded it here....

I'll send this on to art@, too.

Cheers

Subject: [website-dev] Improvements for the main download page
Reply-To: [email protected]

Hi,

when i take a look on our download page (not the new office download
page, the one linked from the top navigation bar http://
download.openoffice.org/index.html) i have the impression that it
needs some redesign and a new fresh appearance.

First thing i would like to start is to collect ideas for new logos
or images for the Office, the SDK and the URE. This new logos/ images
should be later used as eye catcher on an initial download page.

Currently we have only a old fashioned list of links with short
descriptions. All this stuff is important and you even find the
important things but i would like to see a clear structured page
where you can find the Office, the SDK and URE the three main
products from openoffice.org. Take a look on the mozilla or the
NetBeans download pages, both are well structured and looks much
better. Everything else should be on a second page which is linked
from the first one.
