And people creating artwork for OpenOffice.org I'd like to ask for contributing to our project.

"font" does not fit logically inside the "to-do" category. If someone comes to the website thinking "I want to make art for OOo" they'd click on the to-do list. But a lot of visitors just want to *use* art. That's why you currently provide links to ready-made business cards, banners, CD labels, etc. What if I don't like any of the labels you provide and I want to make my own? What if I want to make my own banner? Saying that it would be nice if I sent that to the project does not at all justify hiding the information behind your to-do list.

If I come to the website thinking "I want to make a new OOo label" I will *not* click on the to-do link, because that's now what I want. I didn't come to the site thinking "let's see what the OOo guys want me to do", I came thinking "I want to do xyz, how do I do it?".


The main Art Project page doesn't contain any text except the Mission Statement - and there talking about the Style Guide doesn't really fit.

Put it in "design elements" then.

Now, why didn't you put "design elements" behind the to-do link? The argument you just used for fonts applies equally to "design elements".

People wanting to create artwork should follow the link "How to participate" - or "Artwork To-Do".

No, they shouldn't. They should only do that if they came to the site wondering how to paticipate. But if they come to the site knowing exactly what they want to do (e.g. "I want to make new OOo postcards") there is no reason why they would read your to-do list. Even if they are planning on sending you the final work. If they are planning on sending you the final work they would click on "how to participate" but probably to find the email address to send the work to, not to find the font.

the Style Guide could be linked even better than at the To-Do list, because there is a paragraph about "Creating new art".

The participation page is better for "font" than "to-do", but it's still a very bad place. Please put it in design elements.

Another place to link to the Style Guide could be the logo gallery and the icon gallery (once created). But as long as the Style Guide is not finalized I don't want to link to it from too many places.

Not necessarily on the main page. Just on a place that someone looking for it is likely to find. Put yourself in the position of someone who wants to create an OOo postcard for whichever reason. The question in your mind is not "how do I contribute?". The question is "where do I get the tools to make the postcard I want?".
