I looked at Caolan's when it came out, and decided I didn't understand it, and never would. However, I wrote, and have since adjusted for use on other blogs, a nasty, ugly python hack which lets me post very comfortably to my own blog. It does not allow all sorts of other tricks which might be useful, but it's one way to post cleanly to Movable Type. It does rely on a PyMT module (GPL) which I found through Google, and it is certainly not ready for general release. But it shows what can be done with python, OOo and sufficient bone-headed determination. In the grander scheme of things, you could of course connect to the MySQL backend that MT often uses from and OOo Base document. I have done that, too. but there didn't seem to be any point to it. Someone who actually understood OOo Base could produce a whole blog management system that way. IN the meantime, I suggest and RFE, and perhaps a prod to the next people who tunr up on the lists asking how they can contribute to the project. -- Andrew Brown The email in the header does not work.
