[ Sorry for cross posting. I'm not sure if it is OK to skip on of the
two lists ]
Hi all,
Today we sent out a PR from the Dutch Nl-group, announcing the new
PDF-functionality in OOo 2.0.3 ....
Yes, that's newsworthy.
Especially since users of a competitive product have to wait till 2007
before an integrated solution is available.
Furthermore we plan a few more press releases, about one every two weeks:
- more new functions in 2.0.3
- release of 2.0.3 (or the Dutch version of it)
- about the new release policy of OpenOffice.org.
(I call it 'What's in it for me' release model. If there's a new feature
or a bugfix that one needs, just step in. Otherwise skip till the next
release, three months later. Easy enough.)
Strategy:
As mentioned before: our friends from Redmond are every day in the
headlines. Often with MsOffice. Not because they are better, or in the
winning mood or such ;-) Just because they plan to send out 'news'
regularly.
We can do that as well. Should seriously consider to do that, IMHO.
It 'only' costs time, no advertising budget.
What do you think?
Greetings,
Cor
