According to the search function of the US Patents Office, which should
be covering the entire world (you know, the US) there is only one active
trademark registration for OpenOffice.org on behalf of the German team,
and there was a registration of OpenOffice.org (now dead) for Sun.
It looks like there has never been a trademark registration for
OpenOffice (without the "org"). Unfortunately, to be completely sure of
this situation, we should ask for an "official" research, which costs
several hundreds dollars.
Best, Italo

Thanks for the link. I just did an "advanced" search for any string
matching *Open*Office* so it would match things like "Open Office" or
"TheOpenOffice" or "OpenOffice.org".
I didn't get any results either.
Cheers,
Daniel.
