Eric,
Thanks for your reply. I do know about the official port to Mac OS X, and about all the work you and your team have done. It is very impressive and very important! (And is 98% of the code used in NeoOffice--I double checked the project page today :) Thank you for all that work.

However, I do not believe that users will be comfortable (or in many cases, able) to use X11. In an advertisement targeted to end-users, I think the simplest and most direct approach will succeed. That's why I feel it is an imperative to use a version that does not require X11, hence NeoOffice.

In the same vein, I agree with J. David Eisenberg's comment that the homepage is not simple enough for a potential end-user who just wants to download and install the software! He is right; Firefox' approach seems much better. However, I don't see a fix for this in the time available and it will have to do...

Please let me know how I can help the Mac porting effort, and I apologize but I feel I must link to NeoOffice for the time being.

Thanks,
Ben

I'll probably also want to put a link to NeoOffice.org for Mac users. (There are many in NYC.)

Please, don't be confused : there is an official OpenOffIce.org port on Mac OS X, providing - since 2.0 - OpenOffice.org for Mac OS X, for both PowerPC and Intel architectures.

And it would be kind of you, to put the real Mac OS X port of OpenOffice.org project in first line, instead of derivative products.

Thank's in advance.

Eric Bachard
