Andy Carvin has posted a two-part essay about free and open source souftware, with a focus on education particularly in the second part.
In Andy's own words; "The first part explores the basics, offering definitions of open source software, freeware and free software, which many people erroneously use interchangeably." And about the second part Andy said; "explores the role of free and open source software (FOSS) in K-12 education. In the second installment, I interview author and edtech expert David Thornburg, who's just released a new book about FOSS and education." Carvin, A. (2006), What’s the Fuss About FOSS?
