Its considered alpha at the moment so I guess best to keep it where it
is being developed for the time being but that really depends on the
developers and anyone who wants to move it elsewhere earlier since its
open source.

There are different approaches and chances are that different viewers
will have different trade offs. This one depends on XUL but that makes
it quick to develop and easy to make a plug in to Firefox. Other
approaches might have other advantages. It would be neat to have a
future version of Firefox that could render any ODF file directly and
with reasonable accuracy.
