Sorry I'm no lawyer, but I think the LGPL does permit the advertisement
and sale of the software. The following only says in the *copy* all
license information must be replicated.

"1. You may copy and distribute verbatim copies of the Library's
complete source code as you receive it, in any medium, provided that you
conspicuously and appropriately publish on each copy an appropriate
copyright notice and disclaimer of warranty; keep intact all the notices
that refer to this License and to the absence of any warranty; and
distribute a copy of this License along with the Library."

It is more a general business failure to not mention under what license
they actually do offer the "product". but that seems standard practice
in the software industry. If you want to shut them down you best make a
test-purchase and see if they provide the correct license. If we really
want to shut them down we all make a test purchase and will return the
product within the six weeks.

I think the following covers their but by providing the 8 weeks
warranty. "You may charge a fee for the physical act of transferring a
copy, and you may at your option offer warranty protection in exchange
for a fee."

In any case they need to abide by "8. You may not copy, modify,
sublicense, link with, or distribute the Library except as expressly
provided under this License. Any attempt otherwise to copy, modify,
sublicense, link with, or distribute the Library is void, and will
automatically terminate your rights under this License. However, parties
who have received copies, or rights, from you under this License will
not have their licenses terminated so long as such parties remain in
full compliance."

Although one could argue that the price for 8 weeks is highly over the
top. There is also a contradiction between the claim "Risk-Free, 8 weeks
100% Money-Back Guarantee" and the claim on the CC page "ClickBank will,
at its option, replace or repair any defective product within eight
weeks from the date of purchase. For more detail see our return policy."


I also wonder where I have seen this packaging design before. It looks
like MS Office but I can't find it there as a current packaging. I'm
sure it is copied from somewhere and that would mean copyright
violation. So get the MS lawyers on the job.

I find it also interesting that it is clickbank itself, a business that
normally organizes affiliate networks offering this "product".

Question: What do you think, should we use the power of the blogosphere
to expose their deeds? Or would that bring them more eyeballs than they
deserve.
