CafePress - Put cafepress and OpenOffice.org into Google http://www.cafepress.com/sunopensource Seems like Sun see the commercial benefits :-) This has been brought up a few times in the past. An official OOo merchandising section would bring in funds to do more things like the advertisement in the New York Metro. Mozilla get significant amounts of money from merchandising. There is no will to do it as far as I can so I personally gave up on that score a couple of years ago but there is still a significant opportunity for the project that is being missed. If OOo sold its own brand merchandising from the main web site it would almost certainly make money. Its relatively simple to do and someone could even be paid to do it from the income so its not like it would be a drain on resources. Its a real puzzle as to why it hasn't happened really.
