Hi, My name is Mervin Faulkner. I live in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. I have just joined marketing.openoffice.org. I am 67 years old and have been involved in software for over 35 years. My expertise is problem solving. I developed the ability, early in my career, to analyse software written by others and help them find the bugs. I am the President of MERVIN G. FAULKNER ASSOCIATES LTD., a Management and Computer Consulting company established in 1977.
I am a fan of Openoffice.org and have a link on our web site; www.realpointscorp.com (Real Points is points program used to reward employees and customers/clients for their loyalty. It is capable of being multi-national.) I joined marketing because I have been involved in sales for the past 5 years but if there are other roles you feel that I can help in (time permitting) I will be happy to consider them. I always do what I say I will do therefore, I will not commit myself to anything I do not feel I can complete in a reasonable time frame. My first priority is to earn a living! My passion at this time is our Infomation Retrevial Technique called FLEXTRACT(a trademark of MGFA). FLEXTRACT is a conversational information retrieval technique which was originally developed back in the Key-Punch days. It processes statements such as "Select all records with city = toronto and status = prospect"(it will process up to 10 paramaters at a time.) It is capable of being multi-lingual. We will have an on-line demo available within the next 2 weeks. The demo will respond to English, French and Spanish statements. I look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship.
