Great teja, so I am not sure how we can do this yet so suggestions are
allowed.
I have made a wikipage of the Otto's web 2.0 club project. So I have
started researching on ways to push OOo content into this virtualspheres
and present OOo to other markets.
Mission 1: Build awareness
Mission 2: Drive traffic into OOo site
Mission 3: Invite them to use OOo
The challenge:
These sites are poping up everyday and it will be hard to mantain
everything up to date. So here are some strategies I have.
* Do it manually by having a team.
* Do it automatically by developing scripts.
So far I added an otto email called: [EMAIL PROTECTED] this email
points to my email at the moment, the idea is to have an independent
account.
The password varies and I will send it to the member of the clubs.
So please feel free to chip in, I will put the name of the 'club
members'.
Do we send a mail at that list to join the club, is that right ?
Kind regards
Sophie
Actually at this point we still have no vehiecle that will allow
collaboration from the club. We are talking about how to approach this
issue. So far we got this:
Otto email, but it redirects to my personal email, do we need to forward
it to the marketing list instead? Emails from this social networks might
be considered spam to the list. So the question is do we need another
mailing list (not excited about this one). Do we generate a new email
account that we can share the password (is ok but risky). Do we need to
care about an email at all?
The other part is having the control of the login and password, since we
can get locked out of the project if we publish the password on public
mailing lists like this ones. I have shared the loging information on
personal emails outside of the list to be able to work with.
Finally the other challenge is how to automate the contributions so for
example if we want to update the Social networks blogs, status images..
contentetc. I have been researching on scripts that will let you update
content automatically without needing to phisically login and even other
tools will let you import your RSS feed and repost it right away.
So right now these are the challenges, feel free to discuss alternatives
to solve this issues.
Thanks to some of the guys in the club we have been posting materials from
the Art project into Otto's Picture space, I have gone and generate not
just Otto but OpenOffice.org groups (or joined if there was already).
