I also feel the same what you mentioned in your mail.
I tried to contact people in openoffice.org, so that we can enlist ourself
as a official support on OpenOffice but failed to get any single response.

As far as cetification is concerned i think there should be some
certification on OO. We are planning to start the our own certification.
In first phase we will provide paricipation certificate for all those who
will attend the training. Then in next phase we will provide OOTP (open
office trained professional) in 3rd stage once we finalise the course and
testing process there will be Certified OO Professional or Certifies OO
Developer.
